How We Research
Every product page on Should I Buy It? is compiled from publicly available specifications and research, then structured into a consistent format. Here’s exactly how that works.
Where the information comes from
- Manufacturer specifications and official product documentation.
- Publicly available product listings and retailer detail pages.
- Recurring themes in publicly available user feedback and reviews.
What we record
Each product captures key specifications, pros, cons, common complaints, who it’s best for, who it isn’t ideal for, and realistic alternatives. Where we have a concise summary, it appears as the Quick Take.
What we don’t claim
- We do not claim to have physically tested a product unless that is explicitly recorded.
- We do not fabricate ratings, review counts, or “live” prices.
- We do not guarantee retailer availability — always check with the retailer.
Keeping it current
Product pages show a “last updated” date. Research can go out of date, so we treat that date as a signal of recency, not a guarantee of accuracy.
Affiliate relationships
This site may earn a commission through affiliate links, at no extra cost to you. That never determines what we research or how we describe a product. See our affiliate disclosure for the full details.
Confirm before you buy
Specifications, availability and pricing change over time. Treat our pages as a starting point and confirm important details with the retailer or manufacturer before purchasing.
